| My name is Karen, the owner and operator of Karen's
K9 Care, and my dog's name is Baxter. Baxter was a stray
who found me and who was to change my life. I was doing
so much wrong. We played tug-of war, I let him sleep
on my bed, I chased him to play, and I let him walk me.
Soon things were getting out of hand, and I realized
that we were both in need of training if we were going
to be partners. I sought out a professional dog trainer
who gave me the tools and skills to correct these problems.
With much dedication and hard work we have become a team
and best friends. Now when I walk on South Street you
can find Baxter heeling off-leash by my side. We can
now enjoy each other's company. This transformation is
the inspiration behind Karen's K9 Care. My motto is "a
well trained dog is a happy dog". And our other
favorite motto is "a tired dog is a good dog". |

| Hi! My name is Kurt, and these are my Bullmastiffs,
Tes and Dozer. I have been working at Karen's K9 Care
since September 2001. I am formally trained in the culinary
arts and have worked for numerous restaurants and catering
companies. After working in that field since I was fourteen,
I decided I needed a change. I found out about Karen's
K9 Care when my wife and I were looking for a puppy in
1998. With help from Karen, we found our first dog Bruno.
In 2003, we decided to add a second puppy to our family,
and my wife always wanted a Bullmastiff. So after an
eight month search we found Tes. Since Greg, our trainer,
has started, I have discovered a new interest in training.
I have been participating in the Advanced Obedience with
my own dogs, and I enjoy helping Greg as needed. After
the death of our boxer Bruno, we decided to get a second
Bullmastiff, and that's when Dozer joined our family. |

| Tammy has been with us since the Spring of 2000 and
started full time after graduating in May 2003 from Delaware
Valley College with a degree in Small Animal Science.
While at Del Val, Tammy was actively involved in the
animal science society as well as many other community
service activities, one of which was Animal Assisted
Activities (AAA). Through the AAA program she trained
one of the school’s beagles in basic obedience
and got approved through the Delta Society as a therapy
team. Tammy is certified as a Canine Good Citizen evaluator,
and has also been helping Brookline Labrador Rescue by
training dogs to make them more adoptable. She continues
to volunteer her time with Delta Society Evaluations
and fundraising for Canine Companions for Independence.
Tammy heads our AAA program here at Karen's K9 Care. |
